A household helper that lives in WhatsApp
Our family already talks in WhatsApp. So the helper lives there too — lists, reminders, and the boring admin nobody wants to own.
The problem
Every household carries a pile of small invisible admin: what we need from the shop, who is collecting whom, the thing someone mentioned on Tuesday that everyone had forgotten by Thursday. It usually all lands on one person.
What I am making
A helper that sits in our family group chat and picks those things up as they are said, in ordinary messages, in two languages. Nobody has to install or remember a new app.
Where it is now
Early, and it lives with my own family only. The useful part so far is that nobody had to change how they already talk to each other.
What I have learned so far
That the winning decision was choosing somewhere people already are. Every version that required someone to open a separate app died quietly.
